Some rings can transport us back in time. This one, made at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, combines two precious metals – classic 0.585 fine gold and silver, in which diamond rosettes with a total weight of 0.12 ct were set. This combination, characteristic of jewellery of that era, was not accidental. Silver, thanks to its light colour, was able to beautifully emphasise the shine of the diamonds, and the gold rail added warmth and elegance to the whole.
Diamond rosettes, cut to resemble flower petals, were a symbol of subtle elegance in the 19th century. Their flat base and convex, faceted surface allowed the stones to delicately reflect the light of candles and gas lamps, creating the effect of a soft, mysterious glow. It was this cut that made the jewellery not shine ostentatiously, but attract attention with its discreet play of light.
In this ring, the silver setting of the stones harmoniously contrasts with the warm shade of the gold rail, creating a classic yet unconventional composition. Its charm lies in its simplicity and history – because not every ring has a story that can literally be worn on the finger.
