In the workshop where this brooch was created, plants with a distinct, sculptural structure were evidently highly valued. The gently curved petals with a satin texture and the richly elaborated center with radially arranged stamens bring to mind a martagon lily, a flower that in nature captivates with its harmonious, five-petaled construction and the light reflecting from its anthers.

However, the jeweler did not create a botanical copy. Rather, they captured the essence of the plant: the soft undulation of the petals, the dynamism of a developing flower, and that subtle tremor of form visible in nature just before full bloom. The central cluster of tiny diamonds looks like a luminous interpretation of pollen, which in lilies always catches the eye with its natural glow, here translated into jeweler's precision.

The 750 gold allowed for the creation of petals with an almost silky surface, and the hand-finishing of each one gives the whole the impression of botanical lightness, even though the brooch itself takes the form of a small, golden sculpture.

This is jewelry in which nature has been filtered through the artist's sensibility: recognizable motifs are not literally described, but rather translated into the language of light, texture, and proportion.
