At first glance, it might seem like an artifact from a fairytale land, like a fragment of a sea queen's crown, whose jewels were not made of pearls, but of porous coral colored by the hand of a mad artist.

Every color, every line, every twist of form in this brooch is a story of how matter can become emotion. The white, porous coral, a rare material that gains a new identity in this composition through hand-painting, resembles the walls of houses in Casamassima, an Apulian artists' village, where colors speak louder than words.

750 fine gold, like a vein, encircles the whole, wrapping it like a memory of the delicacy of old, hand-woven jewelry ribbons from the Art Deco era. The eight diamonds, carefully placed, do not dominate, but delicately elevate the entire composition, as if they were an echo of starlight reflecting in the sea.

And then there's this detail: a pendant in the shape of a starfish, on one hand joyful, almost childish in its simplicity, on the other, deeply symbolic. Because this brooch, despite its colorful extravagance, speaks of the balance between what is earthly and what is marine. Between craftsmanship and the intuitive gesture of the artist.
