Złota zawieszka prawosławna

W tradycji wschodniego chrześcijaństwa niektóre symbole nie zmieniają się od wieków. Litery pozostają te same, układ krzyża jest rozpoznawalny natychmiast, a znaczenia – przekazywane z pokolenia na pokolenie – nie wymagają tłumaczenia dla tych, którzy je znają.

Ta niewielka zawieszka została zbudowana właśnie wokół takiego porządku. Na jej awersie pojawia się krzyż uformowany z drobnych, kulistych elementów, wpisany w dekoracyjną, niemal reliefową powierzchnię. Pomiędzy ramionami odczytać można skróty: IC XC NIKA – „Jezus Chrystus zwycięża”. To jedna z najbardziej charakterystycznych formuł ikonograficznych obecnych w sztuce prawosławnej.

Rewers przedstawia wczesnochrześcijańską, dekoracyjną podobiznę Chrystusa. 

Całość wykonana została ze złota próby 0.585, zawieszka posiada wtórną polską puncą.
