Gold earrings with diamonds and star sapphire

These earrings were inspired by old court jewelry, where the central stone was treated as a phenomenon, not merely a decoration. The star sapphire, cut in a cabochon shape, reveals asterism – a luminous star that appears on the stone's surface and moves with motion, exactly as described in ancient jewelry treatises. In times when jewelry was viewed in candlelight, this effect was perceived as almost magical.

The diamond crown encircling the sapphire does not solely serve an ornamental function. Its purpose is to concentrate and amplify light, so that the star is legible and clear, regardless of the viewing angle. This solution is known from old aristocratic jewelry, where diamonds set the stage for the main stone, rather than competing with it.

The deep, nocturnal shade of the sapphires combined with the warmth of yellow gold evokes jewels encased in museum displays – with the difference that here the light remains in motion. The star on the stone's surface follows the gaze, appearing and disappearing, giving the earrings the impression of living matter.

Each pair is handcrafted in our jewelry workshop, from stones carefully selected for the intensity and symmetry of their asterism. The design can be personalized – from the type of gold to the proportions of the diamond crown.
