A pair of earrings that could easily find their place in 19th-century Palermo was created in a small European jewelry workshop. The master goldsmith reached for a motif so characteristic of Sicilian jewelry – light, movable floral compositions – and recreated them with a precision reminiscent of old, handmade work carried out by the light of an oil lamp.

The upper part resembles a small flower, the lower part – an intricate twig set with sparkling diamonds in old brilliant and eight-cut settings. The use of silver in the stone setting gives them a soft, subdued glow, as if the stones remember the era in which these cuts were created. The rose gold from which the earrings are made introduces a subtle warmth – exactly what is associated with the southern light of Sicily.

The "Day and Night" mechanism works here as in antique pieces: the lower, larger element can be detached, creating light, daytime earrings. When reattached, the composition becomes an evening piece – more sophisticated, with a distinctly jewelry-like character. This is not just functionality; it is an echo of a custom from two centuries ago, when one pair of earrings could accompany one throughout the entire day – from a morning church visit to a late banquet.

Each stone was set individually, according to ancient art. The rhythm of the leaves and flowers is not geometrically symmetrical – it rather resembles a twig freshly picked from the garden, which further enhances the historical character of the design.
