Gold ring with diamond rosettes, late 19th and early 20th century.
Description
This ring, crafted at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, combines silver and 0.750 gold in a manner characteristic of the jewelry of the era. Diamond rosettes with a total weight of 0.10 ct are set in silver, which enhances the cool sparkle of the stones, while the gold shank introduces warmth and balance to the entire composition.
The central arrangement of three diamonds is not accidental. In jewelry tradition, this number refers to harmony and the continuity of time, sometimes interpreted as past, present, and future, or as the three pillars of a relationship: friendship, devotion, and passion. Such a motif was often chosen for jewelry with personal, symbolic meaning.
The rose-cut diamonds, inspired by the form of a flower, give them a soft, diffused sparkle. The subtle play of light contrasts with the smooth line of the gold shank, creating a ring of balanced character, where form and meaning remain in close relation.
