Signet ring dating from the second half of the 19th century, originating from Western Europe (likely Great Britain).
The gem of the signet is a galvanoplastic (electrotype) copy of an Etruscan scaraboid seal from 550–500 BC. It depicts a reclining satyr holding a cup above a mixing bowl for wine and water.
The original scaraboid is housed in the British Museum in London, inventory number: 1865,0712.106.
